Unsheating the sword and cutting in a flash. Iaido is a zen art!
In general, Iaido leads towards the same path of relaxation and de-stressing. Zen’s goal is to strengthen mind and body thus finding inner peace.
Yoseikan Iaido draws its style from Katori Shinto Ryu and Kashima Shin Ryu, two major traditional fencing schools from ancient Japan. They emphasize the instant drawing and use of the sword, whereas the moves called "katas" are repeated incessantly for years until perfect mastery of the technique.
